BenQ V2220

The V2220 is BenQ's newest LCD and the firm claims it is the world's slimmest 21.5-inch display.

With a thickness, or rather, a thinness of just 15mm the V2220 is a very slim screen indeed. Unfortunately it's not the most feature-rich because it can't be wall mounted, lacks rotate and height adjustments and requires an external power brick. While the power brick is compact, it still adds to desk clutter.

The BenQ's on screen display (OSD) controls are also somewhat difficult to use because they are placed, facing down, on the right bottom of the LCD. More annoyingly, because the LCD is so light (weight-wise), it's easy to shake the screen when pushing these buttons.

The display features a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, making it Full HD compatible. While this is good if you plan to watch Full HD or even 720p HD content, we would have appreciated a HDMI input port. This would allow you to play HDCP copy-protected content as well.

The V2220 produces razor sharp visuals that have excellent crispness. Games and movies look great thanks to the LED-backlight, which generates vivid but accurate colours that also have good contrast. The screen also offers wide viewing angles, so you don't have to sit directly in front of the LCD for the best visuals.
